5 March 2020
It is with sadness that we must announce the postponement of the EENA Conference, scheduled in April 2020. During the last weeks, we have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and we came to the conclusion that there was no way out of this decision. Our mission is to contribute to saving lives, and we simply cannot afford to put the health of the public safety community at risk – your work is far too important in your countries. We know the inconvenience this will cause for many, but any other decision would have been irresponsible.
We want to make a mature decision: not a decision made with our hearts, but a decision made with our heads. Many among you contacted us to know our plans or cancel your participation. The certainty of our decision should help you rearrange your plans. The EENA Conference is not just another conference, it is a place where people who dedicate their lives to saving the lives of others meet and inspire each other. We were so looking forward to meeting with you all in a few weeks.
On the positive side, the conference will be postponed to the second part of this year and more details will follow in the next weeks. We will contact speakers, sponsors and exhibitors in the next days and weeks to rearrange the plans. We are very grateful to the Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija and the Radisson Hotel Group for their flexibility and support at all times.
We know that many of you will be disappointed by the postponement of EENA2020, but we trust your good judgement to accept this decision. We are now working very hard and looking into all the options to create a memorable EENA2020 at a date that we will communicate in the next weeks. We will keep you informed as soon as we have further news.
Until then, all our thoughts and support are with you who are facing the challenges posed by the spread of COVID-19.
Gary, together with the EENA Board and the EENA Team
